Designer Maker - Product & Furniture
I am a passionate designer particularly interested in the capabilities of a disruptive approach to 3D printing, and how the limitations of commercially available printers can be challenged and broken. I stand by the belief that a sustainable balance between form and function is ever-teetering, and in today’s staggeringly fast society, a vivid and playful approach to form is essential to retaliate against increasing consumption and reach this sustainable equilibrium of form and function. I have a developed set of multi-media skills, with a speciality surrounding 3D printing and CAD work, yet have explored more artistic mediums in screen printing and ceramics. I strive to incorporate elements of my experience throughout all mediums to help solidify unique aesthetic and functional choices within my creative thinking. I’m driven to solve problems creatively and with intuition, and I’m passionate in the work that I produce and strive to think outside of the box when overcoming challenges.
3D printing has become an increasingly accepted and utilised industrial method of manufacturing. Objects often created with 3D printers replicate this uncharacteristic plasticity, but I enjoy finding ways to challenge this and bring more artistic and 'maker' attributes to the process and items i produce from the process. The use of plastic is key to the process, so I'm conscious on how to minimise the material impact and waste whilst producing- looking towards recycling and repurposing.
